A Life in Prose ("the game") is published by JaHoward Hutchins.

What the game stores. The game stores your fictional character's name and preface choices (sex, family background, number of siblings, story tone, who the character might fall for, and what the character values), your decisions, relationships, journal, milestones, reading and sound preferences, current save, recovery backup, and archived lives in the app's local storage on your device. Preface choices describe the fictional character only; the game does not ask about you. These files may be included in backups managed by your Apple device settings.

What leaves your device. Nothing, unless you choose to share. The game does not operate a server for your stories, does not require an account, and does not include advertising, tracking, analytics, or an AI service. The publisher does not receive your gameplay data.

Sharing. When you choose to share a biography or a life card image, the iOS share sheet sends it to the destination you select. That destination's privacy practices apply.

Purchases. The game is sold through the App Store and contains no in-app purchases. Apple handles payment; the publisher does not receive your payment details.

Deleting your data. In the game, open Reading room → Privacy and saved data → Delete all local stories to remove the active story, recovery backup, bookshelf, and milestones. Export any biography you wish to keep before deleting. Uninstalling the game also removes its local data. Device backups and copies you have shared are managed separately through their respective services.

Children. The game is intended for adults and older teens and contains mature, non-graphic themes. It does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone.

This website. The website does not include advertising or analytics added by the publisher. Its hosting infrastructure uses a Cloudflare security cookie and automated security checks.

Changes. If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
